<p>To enhance your safety in the event of a moderate to severe crash, your Equinox^&reg; comes with an array of six air bags,¹ including:</p><ul> <li>Frontal air bags for the driver and front seat passenger, helping reduce the risk of injury in a head-on or near head-on collision; these dual-stage air bags automatically adjust their inflation pressure, depending on crash severity, to help prevent air bag-related injuries </li> <li>Embedded sensors detect weight and pressure to determine whether the passenger seat is occupied and whether the frontal air bag needs to deploy in a crash </li> <li>Side-impact air bags for the driver and front passenger, deploying from the seat and to help provide additional protection if the vehicle is struck from the side </li> <li>Head curtain air bags for front and rear outboard seating positions, deploying from the roof rail and helping prevent head and neck injuries in certain crashes </li></ul><p>¹ Always use safety belts and child restraints. All Equinox^&reg; models feature a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and electronic range select.

Always know your tires are properly inflated with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. A warning light is triggered on your dash when tire pressure falls below the recommended amount. The actual pressure of each tire can also be viewed in the standard Driver Information Center. This system does not monitor the spare tire.

Comfort comes standard on your new Equinox^&reg;, and the front bucket seats are no exception. Featuring a power lumbar and power height adjuster on the driver seat, these front bucket seats make both finding the perfect driving position and any drive a little easier.

Equinox^&reg; LS has power-adjustable exterior mirrors, so you can fine-tune their settings directly from the driver's seat.&nbsp;The mirrors'&nbsp;fold manually to help&nbsp;prevent damage.

For smart air bag deployment, the front passenger's seat in your Equinox^&reg; includes an ingenious Passenger Sensing System.¹ Embedded sensors detect weight and pressure to determine whether the seat is occupied and whether the frontal air bag needs to deploy in a crash. A single set of easy-to-follow controls within easy reach on the instrument panel lets you adjust the heating, cooling, defrosting and ventilation throughout the vehicle, providing total comfort for you and your passengers.

Operate your cell phone with a simple tap of the steering wheel. Bluetooth^&reg;1&nbsp;for select phones connects your personal cell phone to your vehicle's audio system, allowing you to place and receive calls using the specific steering wheel controls. The 4-wheel disc brakes on your Equinox^&reg; provide strong, sure stops on dry pavement, of course, but on slippery surfaces the antilock feature enhances your safety even further. The system eliminates the need to pump your brakes on&nbsp;ice, snow or&nbsp;rain-slick pavement to avoid locking your wheels, as you might have learned in driver's education.&nbsp;Instead, sensors in each wheel detect&nbsp;lockup as it happens and do the pumping for you, squeezing and releasing the brake calipers many times per second &ndash; much faster than you could pump.&nbsp;Putting steady, firm pressure on the pedal, you can steer and brake at the same time, a potentially critical ability when you're trying to avoid an object in your path in an emergency.

The GM^&reg; commitment to alternative fuels is evident in the variety of engines it offers, including the E10 fuel-capable 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder engine in Equinox^&reg;. This efficient powerplant can run on a fuel mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline that is sold in many parts of the country. It may be upgraded to E85¹ FlexFuel capable with Federal emissions.&nbsp;<br /><br />¹E85 is a combination of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
