Disc brakes up front and drum brakes at the rear provide excellent braking response and feedback. They also include an antilock feature designed to help reduce wheel lockup and help maintain steering control during hard braking on most slippery surfaces.

Sonic^&reg; comes equipped with an easy-to-use, manually adjustable 4-way driver seat that can be positioned forward or back and up or down. The seat also includes a recline feature that raises and lowers the seatback.&nbsp;

StabiliTrak^&reg;&nbsp;stability control system is standard on Sonic^&reg;. It assists you in maintaining vehicle control in sudden maneuvers, particularly in low-traction conditions&nbsp;such as&nbsp;emergency lane changes and during avoidance maneuvers.<br /><br />Stability control uses a digital steering angle sensor to measure how the driver wants to turn, and a solid-state yaw rate sensor measures the rate at which the vehicle is turning. The system compares the difference between the direction the driver is steering with the way the vehicle is turning. If the system determines the vehicle is not responding appropriately to the driver's steering input, stability control reduces engine torque and applies precise amounts of pressure to the individual front brakes to slow the vehicle and help the driver bring it back to the path being steered.

Standard on all models, except&nbsp;LT Sedans when equipped with the available 1.4L turbocharged engine and&nbsp;6-speed manual transmission.

The 6-speed automatic transmission on Sonic^&reg; seamlessly shifts from gear to gear, automatically giving you great performance out of your ECOTEC^&reg; engine. Use the handy thumb selector to pick between all 6 forward gears in manual mode.

The Driver Information Center provides pertinent vehicle information such as:&nbsp;trip odometer, fuel range, average fuel economy, average vehicle speed, Tire Pressure Monitor (excludes spare tire) and Oil-Life Monitor.

The ECOTEC^&reg; 1.8L 4-cylinder DOHC engine with Variable Valve Timing is compact and durable, designed for low maintenance and&nbsp;low emissions.&nbsp;

The USB port¹, located in the upper glove compartment, lets you connect your MP3 player or other digital music device to play from your own library of music, or connect with a flash drive. The front bucket seats are well suited for a fun, comfortable drive. Both driver and passenger can adjust the seats to their preferred position, allowing for the right amount of leg room. Head restraints also are height-adjustable to further customize comfort.

The front passenger seat features a 2-way manual seat adjuster that can position the seat forward or back to comfortably allow for just the right amount of leg room. The seat also includes a recline feature that raises and lowers the seatback.

These exterior mirrors can be folded manually to help prevent accidental breakage when entering a car wash or parking near another vehicle. They also include integrated blind spot mirrors. Plus, they look great and their body-color finish matches your vehicle.
